Description

The Spark is a 45cm diameter flush ceiling light with an integrated 26W LED producing 4000K neutral white light through a white acrylic diffuser. The circular powder-coated aluminium base sits just 45mm from the ceiling, making it a practical choice for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant or semi-flush would intrude into headroom.

Designed for bedrooms, kitchens, hallways and offices needing broad, even light coverage, the 45cm diameter provides sufficient spread for rooms up to approximately 12-15m². The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white and daylight, giving a neutral tone that works in task-oriented spaces like kitchens and home offices without the cooler blue cast of 5000K+ daylight bulbs. The IP40 rating protects against dust ingress, allowing installation in bathrooms outside direct spray zones (Zones 2 and 3).

The white powder-coated aluminium base pairs with a white acrylic diffuser that conceals the LED array and softens the light output, avoiding visible hotspots or glare when viewed from below. The non-dimmable LED is rated at 26W and delivers its full output immediately on switching, with no warm-up period. The flush mount uses a standard UK ceiling rose connection and requires basic competent person installation or a qualified electrician.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 45mm projection from the ceiling makes the Spark well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m, where pendant or semi-flush fittings would reduce usable headroom. The flush mount design keeps the fitting profile minimal.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP40 rating protects against dust but not water spray. It can be installed in bathroom Zones 2 and 3 (outside the direct shower or bath area), but should not be installed directly above a bath or shower cubicle where it would be exposed to spray.

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux provide a 5-year warranty on the LED, and the fitting is rated for 30,000+ hours of use (approximately 10+ years at typical residential usage levels).
