The Solum is a five-light chandelier built on a polished chrome frame with cut crystal accents at the centre column and arm terminals, each light fitted with a grey organza shade. The chrome arms curve outward from a central stacked crystal column, with a faceted crystal pendant drop beneath the main body. The suspension chain is covered in grey velvet matching the shade tone.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and smaller reception rooms where ceiling height allows a 485mm body drop plus chain length, the Solum provides ambient decorative light across a 720mm diameter spread. Each of the five E14 fittings takes a candle-style bulb (sold separately), and the chandelier is compatible with dimmer switches when paired with dimmable bulbs. The organza shades soften direct glare while allowing light to diffuse through the fabric weave.

The combination of polished chrome metalwork, cut crystal reflectors and fabric shades positions the Solum between traditional crystal chandeliers and fully contemporary metal fittings. The grey organza gives a cooler, more neutral palette than typical cream or white fabric shades, allowing the fitting to work in both warm and cool-toned interiors. The chandelier uses five E14 small Edison screw bulbs, typically candle-style. Bulbs are sold separately. For dimming functionality, pair with dimmable E14 LED candle bulbs rated at 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for warm white light.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The chandelier body measures 485mm height before accounting for chain length. In rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, the fitting works best with minimal chain to maintain clearance above head height. Higher ceilings of 2.7m or above allow more chain drop for visual proportion.

Can the organza shades be removed for cleaning?

The organza shades are removable from each lamp holder for cleaning. Dust gently with a soft brush or vacuum on low setting. For deeper cleaning, hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent and air-dry completely before refitting.

What ceiling rose fitting is required?

The chandelier fits a standard UK ceiling rose with a hook or loop terminal for the chain suspension. The electrical connection follows standard UK chandelier wiring with a central flex running down the chain to the fitting.
