Description

The Solarae is a 20cm glass pendant light built around a hand-blown transparent glass sphere set inside an antique brass metal cage. A single G4 bulb sits inside the glass diffuser, casting light through the clear blown glass in all directions. The antique brass frame provides both structural support and a warm metallic accent that frames the transparent globe.

Designed for use over kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters, the Solarae works as a single pendant over a breakfast bar or in clusters of two or three over longer surfaces. The 20cm diameter suits ceiling heights of 2.4m and above, with the 2000mm cable allowing the pendant to be adjusted on installation to sit 700-800mm above a worktop or 650-750mm above a dining table. The transparent glass maximises light transmission, making the pendant suitable for task lighting as well as decorative use.

The antique brass finish on the metal frame has a slightly aged patina that differentiates it from polished or brushed brass, pairing well with vintage, industrial and warm contemporary interiors. The combination of clear glass and aged brass gives the Solarae a Mid-Century or vintage-industrial character without being overly styled. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only.

Each Solarae pendant uses a single G4 bulb (sold separately), which is a bi-pin capsule bulb typically available in 10W-20W halogen or 2W-4W LED equivalents. The G4 base is smaller than standard E27 or E14 fittings, so bulb selection should be confirmed before installation.
