Description

The Solace is a 42mm square surface-mounted LED downlight with an integrated 4W 3000K LED behind a transparent satin acrylic diffuser. The body, base and ring are powder-coated aluminium in a matt white finish. The surface-mount design projects 42mm from the ceiling and provides a geometric alternative to recessed downlights where ceiling void depth is limited or where a defined architectural accent is preferred.

Designed for hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (IP20 rated — Zone 3 only), living rooms and commercial spaces, the Solace provides even ambient light with minimal glare. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light comparable to halogen, while the satin acrylic diffuser spreads the beam to avoid harsh shadows directly beneath the fitting. The dimmable LED is compatible with most trailing-edge and some leading-edge dimmers — contact us to confirm compatibility with a specific dimmer model before purchase.

The 42mm square footprint allows multiple Solace downlights to be arranged in grids or linear runs across corridors and kitchen ceilings, creating a modern geometric lighting pattern. The powder-coated aluminium construction withstands residential and light commercial use, and the integrated LED removes the need for separate lamp replacement during the fitting's working life. The white finish blends cleanly with white or off-white ceilings while maintaining a defined architectural presence due to the 42mm projection.

Yes. The integrated 4W LED is dimmable and works with most trailing-edge dimmers. Compatibility with leading-edge dimmers varies by model — please contact us before pairing with a specific dimmer to confirm.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating permits use in bathroom Zone 3 only — areas more than 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower tray and outside direct spray zones. It is not rated for Zones 1 or 2.

What colour temperature is the LED?

The integrated LED is 3000K, which produces a warm white light comparable to traditional halogen bulbs. This is warmer than daylight white (4000K-5000K) and suits residential interiors.

Does the LED need replacing?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 30,000+ hours of use, which translates to approximately 10-15 years at typical domestic usage levels.
