Description

The Solace is a 42mm diameter surface-mounted LED downlight with a powder-coated black aluminium body, integrated 4W 4000K LED, and a transparent satin acrylic diffuser. The compact cylindrical housing projects 18mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for low-ceiling installations where a recessed downlight cannot be fitted due to insufficient void depth above the plasterboard.

Designed for hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (dry zones only - IP20 rating), bedrooms and home offices, the Solace provides directed neutral-white light at 4000K without the need to cut into the ceiling structure. The surface-mount design fixes to a standard ceiling rose or junction box, making retrofit installation straightforward in properties where ceiling voids are shallow or filled with insulation. The satin diffuser softens the LED point source and reduces glare when viewed from below.

The black finish provides a defined accent against white or light-coloured ceilings, giving the fitting a visible architectural presence rather than attempting to disappear. The powder-coated aluminium body dissipates heat generated by the LED module, maintaining stable output over the lamp's rated life. The integrated LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible trailing-edge or leading-edge LED dimmer - confirm dimmer compatibility before installation to avoid flicker.
