Description

In our view, a good pendant lampshade does quiet work in a room, softening the light overhead and giving the eye something interesting to settle on. The Silvia Pendant Lampshade in White does exactly that, casting a gentle glow through a shade built from overlapping pointed leaves that gather into a tight artichoke form. We love how the crisp white finish keeps the look fresh and easy to place, whether you hang it above a kitchen table, in a reading corner or over a hallway. This is the Mini size, measuring 24.5cm in height and 32cm in diameter, so it suits smaller spaces or grouping in multiples where a fuller shade might feel heavy.

Because the shape is layered rather than smooth, the light filters between the leaves and throws soft shadows onto nearby walls and ceilings, which we find gives a room real warmth after dark. The Mini is light too, at just 0.29kg, so it works happily on standard pendant fittings. It is compatible with E27 bulbs, and while we have set it up here as a pendant, the shade can also be used with floor and table lamp bases if you would rather bring the same leaf detail down to eye level. Assembly takes around 15 minutes and there is a short video to guide you through fitting the leaves into place.

The shade is made from polypropylene and polycarbonate, which keeps it sturdy while holding those fine pointed edges neatly in shape. To care for it, we suggest a soft dry cloth or a light dusting between the leaves now and then to keep the white looking clean and bright. If you want to build a considered look, we think a run of three Mini shades along a kitchen island works beautifully, letting the artichoke form repeat without overwhelming the space.
