Description

The Shoal is a 2-light crystal wall light built around a polished nickel frame with layers of faceted crystal rods arranged in an interlocking grid pattern. Two E27 bulbs sit behind the crystal layers, casting light through the faceted surfaces to create prismatic reflections across the surrounding wall. The hexagonal perimeter of the frame measures 306mm wide by 258mm high with a 153mm projection from the wall.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living room accent positions, the Shoal acts as both functional wall lighting and decorative focal point. The crystal grid diffracts light into sharp rainbow edges under warm-white bulbs, while the polished nickel frame provides a clean metallic border that pairs with both contemporary and traditional interiors. The 60W per bulb rating allows for bright E27 LED bulbs in the 8-12W range, giving enough output for task reading or ambient wash lighting depending on bulb choice.

Each crystal rod is precision-cut with bevelled edges that catch light at multiple angles, giving the fitting depth and movement as the viewer's position changes. The polished nickel finish shows minimal fingerprints and can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth. The fitting mounts to a standard single-gang back box and requires wiring by a qualified electrician. The fitting houses two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs in the 8-12W range at 2700K-3000K to create prismatic reflections through the crystal without excessive heat.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Dust the crystal rods with a soft dry microfibre cloth or a feather duster. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the crystal or the polished nickel frame.

What projection does it have from the wall?

The fitting projects 153mm from the wall once mounted. This depth is needed to accommodate the layered crystal grid and the two bulbs behind it, so plan for the projection when choosing the installation position.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Shoal carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor positions.
