Description

The Satin is a single-light wall fitting with a polished chrome circular backplate, polished chrome arm, and a white fabric drum shade measuring 180mm tall by 260mm projection from the wall. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the shade behind an acid-etched glass diffuser at the base, which softens the light and distributes it evenly across the fabric.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms and hallways where diffused ambient light is needed without harsh glare, the Satin works as a bedside reading light when mounted 1200-1400mm above the mattress, or as corridor accent lighting in pairs spaced 2-3m apart. The polished chrome finish pairs with both contemporary and transitional interiors, while the white fabric shade introduces texture without dominating the wall.

The PVC-backed fabric shade conceals the bulb from all viewing angles and prevents direct light spill, making the fitting comfortable for use near eye level. The 260mm projection clears most headboards and picture rails without interference. The G9 bulb fitting accepts halogen or LED capsules up to the maximum wattage specified (see Specification table), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

Is this dimmable?

Yes. The Satin is rated as dimmable, but you must use a dimmable G9 bulb and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all LED G9 capsules dim smoothly on all dimmers, so check bulb and dimmer compatibility before installation.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). G9 LED bulbs between 2W-5W and 2700K-3000K colour temperature are typical for bedroom and living room use. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms or other moisture-prone areas.

How is the fabric shade cleaned?

The white fabric shade can be dusted gently with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with clean water is acceptable, but do not soak the fabric or use household sprays, as they may stain or damage the PVC backing.
