Description

The Maytoni DL058 is a 7W LED recessed downlight with a trimless design that sits flush with the ceiling once plastered. The white aluminium housing has a 54mm diameter visible aperture and a recessed reflector that directs 3000K warm white light downwards whilst minimising glare. The 96mm width refers to the ceiling cut-out required, with the fixture installed into the void above and then plastered over so only the aperture remains visible.

Designed for installation in plasterboard ceilings with a minimum void depth of 53mm, the trimless construction allows the downlight to blend completely into white or light-coloured ceilings without a visible bezel or trim ring. This makes it suited to residential living rooms, kitchens, hallways and bedrooms where clean lines and minimal visual interruption are priorities, as well as commercial settings including galleries, retail spaces and hospitality interiors. The 7W LED output provides task or accent lighting rather than primary room illumination, so multiple fittings are typically spaced across a ceiling for even coverage.

The aluminium construction includes a black heat sink on the rear that dissipates heat from the LED module, rated at IP20 for dry internal spaces. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white tone comparable to halogen downlights, avoiding the cooler blue-tinged light of 4000K+ options. Installation requires connecting to 220-240V mains via a suitable driver (check whether the LED driver is integrated or requires a separate unit) and cutting a 96mm circular aperture in the ceiling. The white finish on the visible aperture blends with standard white emulsion once the surrounding plaster is applied and painted.
