Description

This Maytoni round recessed downlight pairs an 80mm diameter white aluminium bezel with an integrated 12W LED module delivering 3000K warm white light. The LED sits within a black aluminium heat-sink housing, visible from below as a faceted reflector cone that directs light downward with minimal glare. The white bezel sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed, leaving only the reflector aperture visible from the room.

Designed for dry interior installation in residential and commercial spaces, the downlight suits kitchens, hallways, bathrooms outside Zone 1 and 2, retail displays and office ceilings. The recessed format works in ceiling voids from 60mm depth upward, with the heat-sink housing requiring clearance above the plasterboard. Spring clips on either side of the housing compress for insertion and then expand to grip the ceiling cut-out from behind, holding the fitting securely without visible fixings.

The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white range, producing light that appears softer and less clinical than 4000K daylight alternatives. The 12W output provides sufficient lumens for general illumination in spaces up to 8-10m², or can be used in multiples for larger rooms. The aluminium construction disperses heat generated by the LED module, extending the operational lifespan of the integrated lamp. The white powder-coated finish on the bezel resists discolouration under typical indoor conditions and pairs cleanly with white and off-white ceiling surfaces.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The downlight housing extends 60mm above the ceiling surface. A minimum ceiling void depth of 65-70mm is recommended to allow clearance for the heat-sink and electrical connections above the plasterboard.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the module and not user-replaceable. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty and the LED is rated for extended operational life as part of the design.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means this downlight is suitable for dry interior locations only. It cannot be installed in bathroom Zone 1 (shower enclosures) or Zone 2 (areas within 600mm of a bath or shower). It can be used elsewhere in a bathroom provided it sits outside these zones.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific LED driver supplied with this model. Check the product manual linked in the Downloads tab or contact us to confirm before pairing with a dimmer switch.
