Description

The Reif is a 68mm recessed downlight with an extended black aluminium rim that projects 55mm from the ceiling surface, surrounding a gold-finished reflector cone and a GU10 12W bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). The deep-set rim creates a layered visual effect where the black outer cylinder frames the gold inner reflector, which in turn directs light downward in a focused beam.

Designed for accent lighting over worktops, artwork, dining tables and feature walls, the Reif provides directional task light rather than broad ambient coverage. The extended rim reduces ceiling glare by recessing the light source deeper into the fitting, while the gold reflector interior adds warmth to the beam and softens the transition between shadow and lit areas. The IP20 rating restricts installation to dry indoor environments only.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at approximately 150g despite the extended projection, and the matt black finish on the outer rim reduces reflections under natural daylight. The gold interior is powder-coated rather than plated, so it will not tarnish over time. Installation requires a minimum ceiling void depth of 70mm to accommodate the fitting body and GU10 lamp holder, with a cut-out diameter of approximately 60mm.
