Description
The Redding Station is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built around a turned brass shade and prismatic glass lens, suspended from a gooseneck arm on a rectangular brass backplate. The aged brass finish carries a warm, slightly matte tone with darker areas in the recesses of the turned shade, giving the appearance of naturally oxidised brass. The fitting takes one E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating for outdoor use.
Designed for porch entrances, garage side doors, garden walls and covered patios, the Redding Station provides downward-directed task light through the prismatic glass diffuser. The 264mm projection from the wall positions the lantern head far enough forward to cast light across doorsteps and path edges without glare at eye level. The gooseneck arm fixes to the backplate with visible brass dome fixings, reinforcing the industrial station-lamp aesthetic.
The prismatic glass lens is moulded with concentric ridges that scatter and soften the light from a bare bulb, reducing hard shadows while retaining enough brightness for keyfinding and safe navigation at night. The aged brass finish pairs with warm-toned brickwork, timber cladding and heritage-style properties, and holds up to typical UK coastal and urban weathering without requiring frequent maintenance. At 246mm tall and 229mm wide, the lantern suits doorways with limited wall space where a full coach-style lantern would overwhelm.
The aluminium construction keeps the weight down to a level suitable for mounting on typical cavity-wall fixings, and the IP44 rating confirms the lantern is dust-protected and resistant to water splashing from any direction. The 3-year guarantee covers manufacturing defects and finish deterioration under normal outdoor exposure.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Redding Station takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for a vintage look that complements the aged brass finish.
Can it be used in exposed locations?
The IP44 rating means the lantern is protected from dust and water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, garage side doors and sheltered garden walls. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to direct heavy rain or coastal spray without some overhead cover.
Does the brass finish tarnish?
The aged brass finish is pre-treated to give a warm, slightly oxidised appearance. Further natural tarnishing may occur over time in outdoor conditions, which adds to the heritage character of the piece. If you prefer to maintain the original tone, occasional wiping with a dry cloth will slow the process.
What wall fixings are needed?
The backplate has two keyholes for mounting. For solid masonry, use 5mm wall plugs and screws. For cavity walls, use appropriate cavity fixings rated for outdoor light fittings. The aluminium construction keeps the weight manageable for most standard wall fixings.
