Description
The Rando is an outdoor up-down wall light built around a 26cm ribbed grey cylinder that houses two E27 bulb fittings, one directing light upward and one downward. The vertical ribbing on the cylinder acts as a heat sink and gives the fitting a distinct architectural profile when mounted on a facade. The IP54 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for external walls, porch entrances, courtyard perimeters and garden boundaries.
The dual-beam configuration sends light both up the wall surface and down toward the ground, creating a narrow vertical wash that highlights textured finishes on brickwork, render or cladding. The upward beam can graze the underside of eaves or soffits, while the downward beam provides safety lighting at ground level near doorways or pathways. The grey powder-coated metal finish pairs with modern rendered facades, industrial cladding and contemporary stone or composite materials without competing for visual attention.
Each E27 fitting accepts bulbs up to 60W, allowing for LED, halogen or filament choices (bulbs sold separately). The 9.5cm diameter keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow wall sections while the 26cm height gives sufficient separation between the two light sources to avoid glare overlap. The metal construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments, and the ribbed surface prevents water pooling during rain. Mounting hardware is concealed behind the rectangular backplate once fitted.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Rando take?
The fitting has two E27 (Edison screw) sockets, each rated for bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use warm-white LED bulbs between 6-12W for energy efficiency and long service life outdoors.
Can it be used in wet locations?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for walls under eaves, covered porches and open facades. It is not rated for submersion or direct exposure to driving rain without overhead protection.
How is the light directed?
One E27 socket points upward to graze the wall surface above the fitting, the other points downward to light the ground or lower wall section. The ribbed cylinder confines the beams to narrow vertical washes rather than wide flood patterns.
What wall surfaces does the grey finish suit?
The powder-coated grey finish pairs well with rendered facades, industrial cladding, concrete, dark timber and composite materials. It reads neutral against most modern exterior palettes without introducing a strong colour accent.
