Description

The Radiara is a 144mm recessed LED downlight with an integrated 20W LED delivering 4000K neutral white light through a COB (chip-on-board) array behind a textured lens. The fitting consists of a die-cast aluminium frame finished in matt white, designed to sit flush with plasterboard or suspended ceilings with a 71mm cut-out aperture.

Rated IP44 front-face, the Radiara can be installed in bathrooms (zones 2 and 3), utility rooms, kitchens and covered outdoor spaces where moisture resistance is needed. The neutral white 4000K output suits task-oriented environments where colour accuracy matters — kitchens, home offices, workshops, commercial showrooms and retail spaces. The 20W output provides approximately 1,800 lumens (depending on efficacy), enough to light a 4-5m² area as primary ceiling lighting or a larger space when used in multiples.

The die-cast aluminium housing provides a heat sink for the LED, allowing the 20W chip to run cooler than plastic-bodied fittings and maintaining consistent light output over the rated lifespan. The matt white finish sits neutrally against white or off-white ceilings, while the textured lens reduces glare compared to bare LED chips. The fitting is non-dimmable and designed for mains wiring through the rear terminal block.

Can the Radiara be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 front-face rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure and 600mm from a bath or basin). It is not rated for use inside a shower enclosure (zone 1).

What cut-out size is needed?

The Radiara requires a 71mm diameter cut-out in the ceiling. The 144mm diameter visible bezel sits on the ceiling surface around the aperture once the fitting is installed.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and designed to run at full 20W output on standard mains switching.

What depth is needed above the ceiling?

Typical recessed LED downlights of this type require 80-100mm clearance above the ceiling for the driver and heat sink housing. Check the fitting depth in the technical datasheet before cutting ceiling apertures in shallow voids.
