Province 1 Light Outdoor Wall Lantern - Black Seeded Glass

The Province is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built from cast aluminium with a matt black powder-coat finish and seeded glass panels on four sides. The lantern houses one E27 bulb (sold separately, max 60W) inside a tapered glass enclosure that sits within a black metal frame, topped with a curved crook-style finial that hooks over the mounting arm. The IP44 rating allows the lantern to handle rain and moisture when mounted on external walls.

Designed for porches, front door surrounds, garage entrances and covered outdoor walls, the Province sits 382mm tall and projects 197mm from the wall when fitted. The seeded glass texture diffuses light from the bulb, reducing glare and creating a softer ambient glow across doorways and pathways. The cast aluminium construction resists corrosion and handles outdoor temperature swings without warping or surface degradation, while the black finish provides low-contrast integration on darker brickwork or rendered walls.

The lantern mounts on a rectangular backplate fixed to standard UK back boxes, with the cable entering through the rear of the plate. The traditional coach-lamp silhouette pairs with Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture, but the clean lines and restrained detailing also suit contemporary builds where a traditional accent is wanted without heavy ornamentation. What bulb is recommended for this lantern?

The Province takes one E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to replicate the traditional lamp glow while keeping energy consumption low. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can it be used in exposed locations?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, under eaves, and on walls sheltered by overhangs. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or submersion.

Is the seeded glass replaceable if damaged?

The glass panels are held in place by the metal frame assembly. Contact Quoizel or Niori directly for replacement glass availability if a panel is broken.

What's the projection from the wall once installed?

The lantern projects 197mm from the wall surface when mounted, measured from the backplate to the outermost point of the frame. This depth allows clearance for the crook finial and glass enclosure without the lantern sitting too proud of the wall.
