Description

The Poole is a 240mm mini bollard light combining a cylindrical Malaysian teak body with marine-grade 316 stainless steel top, base and horizontal grilles. A frosted glass cylinder sits behind the grilles, housing a single E27 bulb (sold separately, 40W maximum). The IP55 rating allows the fitting to handle jets of water from any direction, making it suitable for exposed pathways, driveways and coastal gardens.

Designed for ground-level installation along pathways, bed edging and driveway borders, the Poole sits 240mm tall with a 102mm diameter footprint. The teak body provides a warm organic contrast to the brushed stainless steel hardware, while the horizontal grilles direct light downwards and outwards rather than upwards into eyes. The base plate fixes directly to concrete, paving or compacted gravel using four fixing points (fixings not supplied).

The Malaysian teak develops a natural silver-grey patina over 12-18 months of weathering unless treated with teak oil. Oiling twice per season maintains the warm honey-brown tone visible when first installed. The 316 stainless steel resists salt spray and oxidation better than 304-grade steel, which makes the Poole suitable for coastal locations where standard mild steel bollards would corrode within a season. The 10-year guarantee covers both the teak and the stainless components.

The Poole takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 4-7W and 2700K for pathway lighting.

Does the teak need maintenance?

Malaysian teak weathers to a natural silver-grey patina over 12-18 months if left untreated. To maintain the warm honey-brown tone, apply teak oil twice per season (spring and autumn). The wood itself does not rot or degrade without oiling — the colour change is aesthetic only.

Can it handle coastal locations?

Yes. The marine-grade 316 stainless steel resists salt spray and oxidation better than standard 304-grade stainless or mild steel. The IP55 rating handles jets of water from any direction. The teak is naturally resistant to salt exposure.

How is it installed?
