The fitting takes a single GX53 bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP66 rating, providing complete protection against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets. The resin construction resists corrosion from atmospheric agents and chemical fertilisers commonly used in gardens.

Designed for outdoor ground installation, the Polar suits paths requiring wayfinding light after dark, patio edges where upward accent light highlights planters or walls, and driveway borders where low-level lighting improves visibility without glare. What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Polar takes a single GX53 bulb, which is a low-profile compact format commonly used in recessed ground and cabinet lighting. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GX53 bulb between 5-9W for path and accent lighting.

Can it be driven over or only walked on?

What installation depth is required?

The GX53 bulb format keeps the recess depth relatively shallow compared to E27 or GU10 ground lights.
