Description

The Plato is an 18.5cm diameter LED pendant light built from a polished brass aluminium frame with a frosted glass diffuser disc at the base. An integrated 12W LED sits behind the diffuser, producing warm 3000K light distributed across a 120° beam angle. The cylindrical brass canopy houses the height adjustment mechanism, allowing the pendant to be raised or lowered between 35cm and 195cm without rewiring.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallway positions, the Plato pairs ambient light with a compact footprint suited to 2.4-3m ceiling heights. The 18.5cm disc provides enough downward light coverage for a small dining table (up to 1.2m wide) or a section of kitchen worktop without dominating the space visually. The height adjustment allows the pendant to be set 60-80cm above a dining surface or higher for general ambient lighting depending on the room layout and ceiling height.

The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with warm-toned timber, darker joinery and neutral wall colours. The aluminium construction keeps the total weight low despite the metal appearance, reducing load on ceiling fixings. The frosted glass diffuser softens the LED light output and hides the internal LED array from view when the light is on, preventing glare from below. The IP20 rating suits dry interior locations only — not bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.

Is the Plato dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 12W on 220-240V AC mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model. Most modern LED-compatible dimmers will work, but confirm compatibility with the manufacturer before pairing with a dimmer circuit.

How is the height adjusted?

The pendant uses a rise-and-fall mechanism housed in the cylindrical brass canopy. The cable and suspension rod can be raised or lowered by hand without needing to rewire the fitting, allowing adjustment between 35cm minimum and 195cm maximum drop from the ceiling.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 35-195cm adjustable drop suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 60-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with 2.4-2.7m ceilings when set to the minimum drop. Higher ceilings allow the pendant to be extended further if needed.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Plato is suitable for dry interior locations only. It does not carry the IP44 or higher rating needed for bathroom zones or outdoor covered positions.
