Description

The Plantation is a 406mm flush ceiling light from Hinkley, built around a hemispherical bowl of diamond-cut clear crystal glass set beneath a pierced metal gallery in polished antique nickel. Three E27 bulbs inside the bowl cast light through the faceted crystal, which fractures and refracts the light into defined patterns across the ceiling and walls. The 222mm overall drop suits rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3-2.8m.

Designed for entrance halls, dining rooms, bedrooms and corridors where a ceiling rose is present but a pendant drop would be too low, the Plantation provides ambient light without projecting far into the room. The polished antique nickel finish gives a softer, warmer tone than polished chrome, pairing well with both traditional brass hardware and contemporary grey or taupe walls. The decorative gallery around the rim of the glass bowl adds visual weight without blocking light output.

The crystal bowl sits in a cast metal housing finished with a fluted finial at the base, echoing classical decorative metalwork. Each facet in the diamond-cut glass acts as a small prism, so when the bulbs are lit the ceiling above shows a dispersed pattern of bright points rather than a flat wash. The 406mm diameter gives the fitting presence in rooms up to 4m wide without overwhelming smaller spaces.
