Description

The Hinkley Plantation is a single-light outdoor wall fitting with a pineapple-cut optic glass shade and polished antique nickel metalwork. The glass shape references traditional colonial hospitality lanterns, with faceted cuts that refract light into patterns across adjacent walls and paving. A 3W LED G9 bulb is included, producing 3000K warm white light through the textured glass.

Designed for external mounting on porches, covered entrances, front doors and external passageways, the Plantation carries an IP44 rating for weather resistance against rain and dust. The aluminium construction and sealed glass housing protect the internal components in exposed positions. The 165mm projection from the wall keeps the glass clear of render or brickwork, while the 124mm width suits narrow pillar and door-frame positions where larger lanterns would overhang.

The polished antique nickel finish combines a brushed base metal with a polished surface treatment, giving a softer reflectivity than bright chrome. The diamond-quilted pattern cast into the backplate and crown above the glass mirrors the facets in the glass itself. The entire assembly weighs approximately 0.8kg, mounting to a standard outdoor junction box with two screws through the backplate.

Can this be used in an uncovered position exposed to rain?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting can be used in positions exposed to rain. It is not submersible and should not be installed where standing water can collect around the base or glass joint.

Does it come with the bulb?

Yes. A 3W LED G9 bulb producing 3000K warm white light is included. The G9 socket accepts replacement bulbs up to 3W if the original bulb needs replacing in future.

What finish is the metalwork?

Polished antique nickel is a brushed nickel base with a polished overlay, giving a softer, warmer tone than bright chrome. It sits between satin nickel and polished chrome in reflectivity.

How is it mounted?

The backplate fixes to a standard outdoor junction box with two screws. The wiring connects inside the backplate before the glass assembly is secured over the top. A qualified electrician should carry out installation to ensure IP44 integrity is maintained.
