Description

The Piper is a 2 light wall fitting built around a polished chrome circular backplate with vertical chrome rods suspended through it, finished with six faceted crystal glass droplets hanging below. Two E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the rod cage, casting light through the metal bars and onto the crystal below.

Designed as accent lighting for hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms, the Piper provides ambient light rather than directed task illumination. The 217mm circular footprint and 112mm projection from the wall suit standard 2.4m ceiling heights without the fitting protruding too far into circulation space. The twin E14 fittings accept candle or golf ball LED bulbs, typically 4-6W each for 800-1,000 lumens combined output.

The polished chrome finish on the metalwork provides high reflectivity under both natural and artificial light, amplifying the output from the twin bulbs. The crystal droplets catch and refract light, creating small highlights on adjacent walls and ceilings. The vertical rod arrangement creates a linear shadow pattern when lit, adding a layer of texture to plain walls.

What bulbs does the Piper take?

The fitting has two E14 small Edison screw sockets, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient hallway or bathroom lighting.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The fitting does not carry an IP rating, so it is only suitable for bathroom zones 3 and outside (more than 600mm from a bath or shower enclosure). It cannot be installed in zones 0, 1 or 2 where water contact is possible.

Can the crystal droplets be removed for cleaning?

The crystal droplets are suspended on individual chains and can be carefully unhooked for cleaning with a damp microfibre cloth, then re-attached. The chrome rods are fixed to the backplate and cannot be removed without dismantling the entire fitting.

What height should it be mounted?

For hallway use, wall lights are typically mounted 1.5-1.8m from floor level to centre the fitting at approximate eye height and provide even light distribution. In bathrooms, mounting height depends on mirror placement and sink position.
