Description

The Picasso is a 44.5cm picture light with a bronze metal frame built around a cylindrical shade tube that houses two E14 bulb sockets (bulbs sold separately). A rosette-shaped wall mount with ornate detailing supports an adjustable swan-neck arm, allowing the light to tilt and angle towards the artwork or frame below. The finish is a mid-tone antique bronze with darker patina in the recessed detailing of the rosette and endcaps.

Designed for mounting above paintings, prints, photographs and mirrors, the Picasso provides directional accent light that reduces glare on glass and highlights frame details without washing out the artwork. The adjustable hinge lets you set the tilt angle after installation to match the height and position of the piece being lit. The 44.5cm width suits frames between 60-100cm wide, though it can be paired with smaller pieces where a statement fixture is wanted. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments.

The bronze finish and classical detailing suit traditional, transitional and period interiors where modern minimalist fittings would look out of place. The rosette mount and swan-neck arm echo Victorian and Edwardian picture light designs, updated with modern wiring standards and E14 sockets that accept compact LED candle bulbs for lower heat output near artwork. The metal construction gives the fitting a substantial weight that requires secure fixing into masonry or a wall stud, not plasterboard alone.

Frequently Asked

What size artwork does this suit?

The 44.5cm width works best above frames between 60-100cm wide. The light can be used on smaller pieces if a more prominent fitting is wanted, or paired with a second unit for wider pieces over 120cm.

Can the angle be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The swan-neck arm pivots on a mechanical hinge at the rosette mount, allowing the tilt angle to be set and re-adjusted to direct light onto the artwork without removing the fixture from the wall.

What bulbs does it take?

Two E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 25W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W to reduce heat near artwork while maintaining a traditional glow.

Does it need to be fixed into a stud?

The metal construction makes the Picasso heavier than plastic picture lights. Fixing into masonry, brick or a wall stud is recommended. Plasterboard-only fixing may not provide adequate support unless heavy-duty cavity anchors rated for the weight are used.
