Description

The Phostis is a 557mm linear wall or semi-flush ceiling light with two white blown-glass globes mounted on a matt black metal rail. Each globe houses a G9 halogen or LED bulb (sold separately) and fixes to the rail with concealed screw mounts. The rail projects 120mm from the mounting surface, making it suitable for both ceiling installation in low-ceiling spaces and wall mounting along corridors or above mirrors.

Designed for dual-mount flexibility, the fitting can be installed horizontally on a ceiling as semi-flush lighting or vertically/horizontally on a wall to provide directed task or accent light. In ceiling installations it suits rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low, and works over bathroom mirrors, hallway runs, and beside beds as reading light. On walls it pairs well with mirrors in bathrooms (IP20 rated for zones 3 only), vanity areas and dressing rooms. The 557mm length fits comfortably above single and double vanity units.

The white blown-glass diffusers soften the light output from the G9 bulbs, reducing glare while maintaining enough brightness for task lighting. The matt black finish on the metal rail contrasts cleanly with white or light-coloured walls and ceilings, giving the fitting a defined profile in modern, industrial and minimalist interiors. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness down to ambient.

Can it be installed on both walls and ceilings?

Yes. The Phostis mounts either horizontally on a ceiling as semi-flush lighting or horizontally/vertically on a wall. The dual-mount design uses the same fixing points for both orientations, so installation is identical whether ceiling or wall mounted.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 bulbs are available in halogen (typically 28W-40W) and LED (typically 2W-5W). Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K for bathroom or hallway use.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits the Phostis to bathroom zone 3 (areas more than 600mm from a water source). It cannot be installed directly above baths, showers or sinks, but works safely above mirrors in dry zones of the bathroom.

How is the glass secured?

Each blown-glass globe fixes to the black metal rail with concealed screw mounts inside the globe neck. The globes can be removed for bulb changes or cleaning by unscrewing the fixing ring inside the glass.
