Description

The Orbis is a 100mm round surface-mounted downlight with a body and base turned from solid aluminium and finished in black powder coat. The fitting takes a single GX53 bulb (sold separately) in a recessed socket, creating a focused downward beam with minimal glare. Unlike recessed downlights, the Orbis mounts directly to the ceiling surface, making it suitable for spaces where ceiling voids are shallow or non-existent.

Designed for hallways, corridors, retail spaces, offices and residential rooms where task or accent lighting is needed without ceiling penetration, the fitting works as general overhead light or as a highlight for specific areas. The 100mm diameter keeps the visual footprint compact while the black finish recedes against dark ceilings or contrasts cleanly against white. The aluminium body acts as a heatsink, allowing the GX53 bulb to run cooler and extending bulb life.

The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GX53 dimmable LED bulb and appropriate dimmer switch, allowing light levels to be adjusted for different times of day or activities. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor environments. The turned aluminium construction gives the fitting a uniform cylindrical profile with no visible fixings on the outer surface once mounted.
