Description
The Ophelia is a three light crystal flush ceiling light in chrome, with crystal and glass detailing set within a compact chrome frame that sits tight to the ceiling. It measures 30cm across and projects just 12cm down, keeping it neat and unobtrusive overhead even in a room with a lower ceiling. Each of its three arms takes a G9 lamp, rated up to 18W, and the crystal catches and scatters the light rather than giving one flat glow, adding a bit of sparkle to an otherwise practical fitting.
Rated IP44, the Ophelia is built for bathrooms as well as any other room in the home, suitable for zone 1 and zone 2 and the areas outside the zones, though zone 0 directly inside a bath or shower enclosure needs a different, higher-rated fitting. Its flush fit and chrome finish suit a modern bathroom particularly well, above a vanity unit or in the centre of the ceiling, though it works just as easily in a hallway, dressing room or bedroom where you want a little sparkle from the crystal detailing without the bulk of a hanging fitting.
The chrome frame is built to cope with the humidity a bathroom brings, and the crystal and glass elements need only a gentle wipe with a dry, soft cloth to keep them sparkling, since abrasive cleaners can dull the chrome and mark the crystal detailing. It's dimmable when fitted with dimmable G9 lamps and a suitable dimmer, so you can soften the light for an evening bath or keep it brighter for getting ready in the morning, and it sits within our wider Ophelia range if you'd like the same chrome and crystal look continued through the rest of the bathroom.

Frequently Asked
Is the Ophelia suitable for a bathroom?
Yes. It's rated IP44, which makes it suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, as well as areas outside the zones. It isn't intended for zone 0, the space directly inside a bath or shower enclosure, which calls for a specialist low-voltage fitting.
What bulbs does the Ophelia take, and are they included?
It takes three G9 lamps, each rated up to 18W, and lamps aren't included. Warm white LED G9 lamps are worth choosing to keep running costs and heat down in a bathroom setting.
What size space does the Ophelia suit?
At 30cm across, it works well over a bathroom vanity area, in an en suite, or in a hallway or bedroom where you want a compact, flush light with a bit of sparkle.
Can the Ophelia be dimmed?
Yes, with dimmable G9 lamps fitted and a compatible dimmer switch installed, it can be taken from bright to low for a softer bathroom atmosphere.
How do I clean the crystal and chrome?
Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the chrome and crystal. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes, which can dull the chrome finish and mark the crystal detailing.
