Description
The Olten is an 80cm aluminium column bollard light finished in graphite, housing an integrated 12W LED at 3000K. Light projects downwards from the top of the column and upwards through a gap just below the cap, providing both path illumination and a marker glow at head height. The IP65 rating seals the fitting against rain ingress and dust, making it suitable for exposed pathways, driveways and garden perimeter lighting.
Designed for residential driveways, commercial pathway lighting and garden edges where visibility and safety are priorities, the 80cm height places the upper light aperture at waist-to-chest level for most adults, making the bollard itself visible from a distance. The 12cm diameter keeps the footprint compact enough for narrow path edges while the aluminium construction resists corrosion in wet UK climates. The graphite finish is a mid-tone grey that sits between black and silver, pairing with both contemporary render and traditional stone without creating harsh contrast.
The integrated LED delivers 3000K warm white light, suitable for residential settings where a welcoming tone is preferred over the cooler 4000K-6500K often used in commercial car parks. The 80Ra CRI means colours render naturally under the light — useful where the bollard illuminates planting, paving or signage. The fitting runs on AC 110-240V, compatible with standard UK mains supply, and carries a 3-year manufacturer guarantee from Maytoni.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is fully sealed against dust ingress (the '6') and protected against water jets from any direction (the '5'). This makes the Olten suitable for exposed locations including driveways, pathways and gardens where it will encounter rain, but not for submersion or locations with standing water.
How is the bollard powered?
The Olten runs on AC 110-240V mains supply. Installation requires an outdoor-rated cable run from a suitable outdoor lighting circuit, typically installed by a qualified electrician. The bollard does not include a plug — it is hard-wired during installation.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For pathway lighting, bollards are typically spaced 3-5 metres apart depending on the width of the path and the desired brightness. Closer spacing (3m) provides higher light levels and clearer definition of path edges; wider spacing (5m) gives marker lighting without flooding the area.
Can the LED be replaced?
The 12W LED is integrated into the fitting. LED modules typically last 20,000-30,000 hours (roughly 10-15 years of typical evening-only use). If the LED fails within the 3-year warranty period, contact Maytoni for a replacement unit.
