Description

This is the Ogee as a half lantern with a sensor, cut flat at the back so it sits almost flush to the brickwork. The Ogee is ogee-roofed over six tapered panels, with a finial above and below. That matters in a narrow passage, beside a door that opens against it, or anywhere a full lantern would be caught by a shoulder. This is the sensor version, so it is the one to put where you want the light to answer someone arriving rather than burn all evening. The Ogee sits behind a moulded polycarbonate diffuser. The powder paint is baked on rather than sprayed, so it keeps its colour against sun and salt instead of chalking off in a season or two.

The ornament is kept rather than stripped back. The first image is the manufacturer's own scale drawing of this half lantern, filled in the black finish it is supplied in, not a photograph: the manufacturer's photograph of the Ogee shows a different variant, and we would rather draw this one accurately than show you the wrong product. The second image is a photograph of this fitting, there for the finish and the detail a drawing cannot carry. Measure the height in the specification against the wall before you buy.

It fixes to masonry and the cable should enter from behind the backplate wherever the wall allows. Brought in from below, a cable invites water to run down the sheath into the housing, which is how most outdoor wall lights fail long before the fitting does. Wiring is work for a qualified electrician: it wants a terminal approved to EN 60998-2-1 or EN 60998-2-2 in a wiring box rated IP68, which is the manufacturer's own instruction.
