Description

The Morne is a 450mm LED bathroom mirror light with an integrated 12W 4000K LED strip housed inside a polished chrome linear bar. The 1080lm output produces cool white light at a 120° beam angle, providing even illumination across a mirror width of 600-900mm without creating harsh shadows under the chin or around the eyes.

Designed to mount above or beside bathroom mirrors, the Morne is IP44 rated for use in bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure and bath tub area). The 60mm projection from the wall keeps the light source clear of most mirror edges while the 140mm height provides enough diffusion to avoid visible LED spotting in the mirror's reflection. The chrome finish coordinates with standard bathroom taps, shower fittings and towel rails.

The rectangular housing measures 450mm long by 140mm tall, making it suitable for mirrors between 600mm and 1000mm wide, wide enough to light the full face without spilling too much beyond the mirror edges. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and non-replaceable, with a rated lifespan of approximately 25,000 hours at typical bathroom usage of 1-2 hours per day. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white (used in living rooms) and daylight white (used in commercial settings), providing accurate colour rendering for grooming tasks without the clinical feel of 5000K+ lighting.

Can the Morne be used inside a shower enclosure?

No. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure and bath area), but not zone 1 (inside the shower or directly above a bath). For those areas you need IP65 or higher.

What mirror width does the 450mm light suit?

The 450mm length works best with mirrors between 600mm and 1000mm wide. For narrower mirrors the light will overhang the edges; for wider mirrors you may need two units spaced symmetrically or a longer model from the same range.

Is the LED replaceable if it fails?

No. The LED is integrated into the housing and cannot be replaced. The unit carries a 3-year warranty and the LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, which translates to over 30 years at typical bathroom usage of 1-2 hours per day.

Does it need a shaver socket or can it run from mains?

The Morne runs directly from 220-240V mains via a standard bathroom lighting circuit. It does not require a shaver socket or transformer. The driver is built into the light housing.
