Description

The Kichler Mona is a 2 light wall light built around a cylindrical opal glass drum shade suspended between polished brass top and bottom bands. A tapered brass stem extends from the wall mount to the shade, forming a sculptural profile. The fitting includes 2 x 3W G9 LED bulbs at 3000K, casting warm light through the frosted glass.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and bedrooms, the Mona carries an IP44 rating making it suitable for zones 2 and 3 in UK bathrooms where it may be exposed to moisture and steam. The 165mm width and 98mm projection from the wall suit positions beside bathroom mirrors, either side of a bed headboard, or in narrower hallway runs where a larger fitting would intrude on circulation space. The 559mm height provides vertical spread of light across a wider section of wall than compact single-bulb fittings.

The polished brass metalwork provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with brass tapware, cabinet handles and mirror frames in bathrooms, or with mid-century and art deco furniture in bedrooms and living areas. The opal glass diffuses the LED point sources completely, eliminating glare and creating an even wash of light. The G9 LED bulbs are pre-installed and rated for 15,000 hours typical lifespan.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 in the UK, which covers positions outside the shower enclosure and more than 600mm from a bath edge. Do not install directly above a bath or inside a shower cubicle.

Are the bulbs replaceable?

Yes. The fitting takes standard G9 LED bulbs. The included 3W LEDs are rated for approximately 15,000 hours but can be replaced when they reach end of life. Use G9 LEDs only — do not fit halogen G9 bulbs as they generate excessive heat for this enclosed glass shade.

What wall colour works best behind polished brass?

Polished brass reads as a warm metallic gold tone and pairs well with white, off-white, soft grey, navy, dark green and warm terracotta wall colours. It can appear too yellow against cool greys or stark whites under daylight, so testing the brass against your specific wall paint in natural and artificial light is recommended.

How is the fitting wired?

The Mona connects to a standard UK ceiling or wall backplate via a threaded stem. Wiring passes through the stem to the bulb holders inside the glass shade. Installation requires connection to mains wiring and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
