Molde 800mm LED Bollard Light - Graphite

The Molde is an 800mm-high bollard light with an integrated 8W LED mounted in a graphite powder-coated die-cast aluminium housing. The angled head directs warm 3000K light downward through a polycarbonate lens, casting a wide pool of light onto pathways, driveways and borders without glare.

Designed for residential pathways, commercial landscaping and public walkways, the Molde provides consistent ground illumination at intervals of 3-5m depending on the width of the path and desired light levels. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for coastal locations, areas near irrigation systems and UK weather year-round. The bollard mounts onto a buried concrete footing and connects to mains-voltage outdoor cabling via a rear cable entry point concealed within the 110mm-square column.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting physical resilience against impacts from garden equipment and wheelbarrows while keeping the weight low enough for straightforward installation. The graphite powder-coated finish is applied over a corrosion-resistant primer and provides a neutral dark grey tone that recedes visually in planted borders and alongside dark paving. The angled head design minimises upward light spill, reducing light pollution and keeping the focus on the pathway surface.

What spacing between bollards is recommended?

For a typical 1-1.2m-wide pathway, spacing the Molde bollards 3-4m apart provides even illumination without dark patches. Wider driveways or commercial walkways may require 2.5-3m spacing. The 8W output is designed for ambient path marking rather than high-intensity security lighting.

How is the bollard installed?

The Molde requires a buried concrete footing with outdoor-rated mains cabling run to the base. The bollard column bolts onto the footing and the cable enters through a rear aperture in the column base. Professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

Is the LED replaceable?

The 8W LED is integrated into the head assembly and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of operation, which equates to 8-10 years of typical evening use. Norlys covers the fitting under a 5-year guarantee.

Can it withstand coastal conditions?

The IP54 rating and powder-coated die-cast aluminium construction make the Molde suitable for coastal installations. The graphite finish is applied over a corrosion-resistant primer. Periodic rinsing with fresh water will extend the finish life in salt-spray environments.
