Description

The Moana is an 85mm diameter tubular LED pendant light finished in sand black, housing an integrated 7W LED that emits 400 lumens at 3000K warm white through a clear acrylic diffuser at the base. The slender cylinder hangs on a single cable from a black canopy, with an adjustable drop between 545mm and 2045mm to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m up to 4m or higher.

Designed for use over kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and worktops, the Moana works as a single accent or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart to form a linear run. The tubular form directs light downward through the acrylic tip, creating a focused pool on the surface below without spreading light sideways. This makes it well-suited to task lighting applications where you need illumination on a specific work area rather than ambient fill.

The sand black finish is a textured matt powder coat over aluminium, giving the surface a fine-grain appearance that absorbs rather than reflects light. The 400-lumen output from the 7W LED is comparable to a 35-40W halogen equivalent, providing adequate task light for a single workspace or one section of an island. The clear acrylic diffuser at the tip prevents the LED source from being visible as a glare point while maintaining the crisp downward beam spread.

Is the Moana dimmable?

No. The integrated LED operates at fixed output on 220-240V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

How many pendants are needed for a kitchen island?

A single Moana provides task light for approximately 600mm of worktop length. For a standard 1.2-1.5m island, two pendants spaced 500-600mm apart work well. For islands over 2m, three or more pendants give even coverage.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The minimum 545mm drop suits ceilings from 2.4m when the pendant is hung 700mm above a worktop. The maximum 2045mm drop suits ceilings up to 4m or higher, common in open-plan extensions and loft conversions.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cable is adjustable on installation and can be shortened or lengthened within the 545-2045mm range by adjusting the cable grip inside the canopy. Once set, it remains fixed unless re-adjusted.
