Description
The Mirror is a 250mm picture light from Ideal Lux with two adjustable arms mounted on a rectangular polished gold backplate. Each arm holds a G9 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately) behind a small metal shield that directs light downward onto the surface below. The twin-arm configuration casts light across a wider horizontal spread than single-arm picture lights, making this suitable for medium-width frames, mirrors and horizontal artworks up to approximately 600-800mm wide.
Designed for wall mounting above picture frames, mirrors, and small paintings, the Mirror fixes directly to a wall plate with the backplate concealing the mounting hardware. The arms pivot on brass-bushed joints, allowing each G9 fitting to be angled independently to balance light across the artwork surface. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the light close to the frame without casting shadows from the fitting itself.
The polished gold finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with gilt frames, brass picture hooks, and warm-toned classical or mid-century interiors. The metal construction keeps the weight at approximately 400g, suitable for mounting on plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and galleries.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Mirror takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 3-5W warm white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K for picture lighting. Avoid high-wattage halogen G9 bulbs as they generate excessive heat close to artwork.
What size artwork does it suit?
The 250mm width and dual-arm configuration work best with horizontal artworks or mirrors between 600-800mm wide. For narrower pieces a single-arm picture light may be more proportionate; for wider pieces consider the longer versions of this range.
Can the arms be adjusted after installation?
Yes. Each arm pivots independently on a bushed joint, allowing you to angle the G9 fittings to direct light evenly across the artwork surface. This adjustment can be made at any time without removing the fitting from the wall.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only. Bathrooms require a minimum IP44 rating for zones 2 and 3, and higher ratings for zones closer to water sources.
