Description
The Maytoni Metal Modern is a twin recessed downlight housing two integrated 10W 3000K LEDs in a 194mm rectangular matt black aluminium frame. Each LED head sits in an independently tiltable ring, allowing both beams to be directed to different zones within a room or concentrated on a single focal point. The combined 20W output delivers 1,600-1,800 lumens depending on beam angle, suitable for ambient coverage of 3-4m² or focused task lighting over kitchen islands, reception desks and retail displays.
Designed for ceiling recess installation, the downlight requires a minimum 75mm ceiling void to accommodate the driver and housing depth. The rectangular aperture cuts cleanly into plasterboard or suspended tile ceilings, with spring clips securing the housing from above once the ceiling is closed. The black aluminium frame sits flush with the ceiling surface, creating a shadow-gap border around the twin lamp heads. Both heads rotate through approximately 30° tilt, allowing light to be angled away from the vertical to highlight walls, worktops or merchandise.
The matt black powder-coated finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, preventing glare when the downlight is viewed at an angle. The aluminium construction dissipates heat from the LED modules without additional cooling fans, keeping the fitting silent in operation. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light comparable to halogen downlights, avoiding the cooler tones common in older commercial LED fittings. The IP20 rating restricts the downlight to dry indoor locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or outdoor soffits.

Frequently Asked
Can the lamp heads be angled independently?
Yes. Each of the two LED heads sits in a tiltable ring that rotates independently through approximately 30° from vertical, allowing both beams to be directed to different areas or concentrated on a single point.
What ceiling void depth is required?
The downlight requires a minimum 75mm ceiling void to accommodate the 75mm housing depth plus the integrated driver. The rectangular aperture measures 194mm x 95mm at the ceiling surface.
Is this downlight dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the driver specification and the type of dimmer switch installed. Consult the product manual or contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with your specific setup.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating limits the downlight to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms, outdoor soffits or any location where moisture or dust ingress is likely.
