Description
The Meribel is a solar-powered outdoor wall light with an integrated motion sensor, a 2.2W LED module emitting 188 lumens at 3000K, and a graphite-finished aluminium frame surrounding a frosted acrylic diffuser. The solar panel on the top surface charges a 3.7V internal battery during daylight, which powers the LED when the motion sensor detects movement after dark.
Designed for entrances, pathways, driveways and patio areas where mains wiring is not practical or desired, the Meribel removes the need for cable runs and electrician installation. The motion sensor activates the LED when movement is detected within range, typically providing 15-30 seconds of illumination per trigger depending on the unit's settings. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making the fitting suitable for covered porches, carports, and wall positions under eaves.
The graphite finish is a dark grey powder coat on the aluminium frame, which resists fading and corrosion in outdoor conditions. The frame-and-diffuser construction creates a lantern-like profile 290mm tall, 140mm wide and projecting 155mm from the wall, visible as a feature piece during daylight and functional task light after dark. The 106° beam angle distributes light across doorways and paths rather than concentrating it in a narrow spot.

Frequently Asked
Does it need mains wiring?
No. The Meribel is entirely solar-powered. The top-mounted solar panel charges an internal 3.7V battery during daylight, which powers the LED when the motion sensor is triggered after dark. No electrician or cable run is required.
How long does the light stay on when triggered?
Motion-sensor solar lights typically stay on for 15-30 seconds per trigger, though the exact duration depends on the unit's internal settings and the charge level of the battery.
Can it be used in fully exposed positions?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray, making it suitable for covered positions such as porches, carports and walls under eaves. For fully exposed positions subject to driving rain, a higher IP rating (IP65 or above) is recommended.
How bright is 188 lumens?
188 lumens is enough to illuminate a doorway, porch or pathway for safe navigation and security purposes, but not bright enough to flood-light a large garden or driveway. It's closer to a 15-20W incandescent bulb in perceived brightness.
