Description

The Mediterraneo is a 220mm frosted white glass flush ceiling or wall light with a wave-form relief moulded into the glass surface. Two GU10 fittings sit behind the glass diffuser, angled to spread light evenly across the internal surface. A brushed silver backplate mounts the fitting flush to the ceiling or wall with a 100mm total projection from the mounting surface.

Designed for hallways, bathrooms (check IP rating before bathroom installation), bedrooms and living rooms with low ceilings or wall positions requiring a compact light source, the Mediterraneo works as a single fitting in smaller spaces or paired in symmetrical installations above headboards, either side of mirrors, or in hallway sequences. The frosted glass eliminates glare from the bulbs and the wave relief adds visual texture without imposing a strong decorative statement.

The fitting ships with two 9W 2700K warm white CFL lamps installed, giving 18W total output. GU10 LED lamps can replace the CFLs if a different colour temperature or output is preferred. The Mediterraneo accepts dimmable GU10 lamps when paired with a compatible dimmer switch. The frosted white glass pairs with white, neutral and light-toned interiors without introducing strong colour contrast.

Can this be used on a ceiling and a wall?

Yes. The Mediterraneo mounts flush to either surface using the same backplate and fixings. The 100mm projection from the wall is suitable for hallway and bedroom wall positions where a compact fitting is needed.

Does it come with bulbs?

Yes. Two 9W 2700K warm white CFL GU10 lamps are included. These can be replaced with LED GU10 lamps if a different colour temperature or output is preferred.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting accepts dimmable GU10 lamps. Dimming requires both dimmable lamps and a compatible GU10 dimmer switch on the circuit. The included CFL lamps are not dimmable — replace them with dimmable LED GU10s for dimming functionality.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 220mm diameter and 100mm projection suit standard 2.4m ceiling heights and lower. The compact size works in hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms where a larger flush fitting would dominate the ceiling plane.
