Mayflower 1 Light Wall Light - Olde Bronze

The Mayflower is a single-bulb wall light built around a yoke-mount frame in olde bronze finish, holding an etched amber glass shade that flares upward from a narrow base. The frame includes decorative cast tension knobs where the yoke meets the wall plate and where the shade holder connects to the arm, giving the fitting a traditional bathroom or hallway fitting aesthetic from the early 20th century.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms and living room walls where a warm accent light is needed without ceiling-mounted fittings, the Mayflower mounts directly to a standard wall back box and projects 171mm from the wall once fitted. The upward-facing shade casts most of its light onto the ceiling and upper wall, providing indirect ambient glow rather than task lighting. The 127mm width and 273mm height suit wall mounting between 1.5m-1.8m from floor level in typical residential corridors and beside bathroom mirrors.

The etched amber glass diffuses the light from the E27 bulb inside, softening the output and adding a warm tonal cast that works particularly well with 2700K-3000K LED or halogen bulbs. What bulb does the Mayflower take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. For best results with the etched amber glass, use a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K colour temperature.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The specification table does not list an IP rating, so the Mayflower should only be installed in bathrooms if positioned outside zones where direct water contact is possible. Consult a qualified electrician to confirm zone compliance before installation.

Does the shade come off for bulb changes?

Yes. The yoke-mount design allows the glass shade to be unclipped from the tension knob and lifted off the holder, giving access to the E27 socket without removing the wall plate or disconnecting the wiring.

What mounting height works best?

In hallways and bedrooms, wall lights are typically mounted between 1.5m-1.8m from floor level. Beside bathroom mirrors, mount at eye level or slightly above depending on the height of the mirror and the user.
