Description
The Mars is a 175mm diameter table lamp built around a single dome of white blown glass, acid-etched to diffuse light evenly in all directions. The glass sits on a chromed metal base that gives the lamp a stable footprint on bedside tables, desks and side tables without taking up more than 20cm of surface space.
Designed for bedrooms, home offices and living room side tables, the Mars provides ambient rather than task lighting. The single E27 bulb fitting accepts any standard Edison screw LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the rated wattage (bulb sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and brightness. The acid-etched glass softens the bulb's direct glare and spreads light across a 2-3m radius, making it suitable for reading lamps when paired with a warm-white LED between 6-10W.
The combination of white glass and polished chrome gives the lamp a clean, mid-century profile that sits comfortably in Scandinavian, contemporary and minimal interiors. The blown glass dome shows slight variation in thickness and tone between individual pieces, a characteristic of hand-blown manufacture. The IP20 rating confirms the lamp is suitable for dry indoor use only, and the chromed base adds approximately 300g of weight to keep the lamp stable on smooth and textured surfaces.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Mars take?
The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED between 2700K-3000K for bedside or desk use.
Is the Mars dimmable?
The lamp itself does not include dimming circuitry. Dimmer compatibility depends on pairing the lamp with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible wall dimmer or lamp cord dimmer.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating means the lamp is suitable for dry indoor environments only and should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any location where moisture or water splashes are present.
How is the glass cleaned?
The acid-etched blown glass can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth when the lamp is switched off and cool. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the glass or using household sprays and chemical cleaners.
