Description

The Marquise is a 565mm diameter drum pendant light with a white fabric-wrapped shade housing five E27 bulb fittings. The shade is built from a flame-retardant PVC sheet wrapped in soft white fabric over an enamelled metal frame, and the pendant hangs on adjustable steel cables with automatic stoppers that allow the drop height to be set on installation.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room installations where diffused overhead light is needed across a 2-3m area, the five-bulb configuration provides even coverage without visible glare or hot spots. The fabric diffuser softens light output from all five bulbs, turning the pendant into an ambient source rather than a directional task light. The adjustable cables mean the pendant can be raised or lowered to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m, and to position the shade 700-900mm above a table or island surface.

The white finish on the fabric shade pairs cleanly with neutral, coastal and Scandinavian interiors, and the 565mm diameter provides visible presence without overwhelming rooms under 20m². The five E27 fittings accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and brightness. The enamelled metal frame reinforces the PVC structure, preventing sagging over time, and the fabric itself is rated flame-retardant to meet IP20 indoor installation standards.

What bulbs does the Marquise take?

The pendant has five E27 (Edison screw) fittings, each rated for bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with 6-10W warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K to achieve soft ambient light without excessive brightness.

Is the Marquise dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable bulbs and pair the pendant with a compatible dimmer switch. The fixture itself supports dimming, but the actual dimming behaviour depends on the bulbs and dimmer you choose.

How is the drop height adjusted?

The pendant hangs on steel cables with automatic cable stoppers. During installation, pull the cables to raise the pendant or release the stoppers to lower it. Once set, the stoppers lock the cables at the chosen height.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Marquise to dry indoor areas only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, covered outdoor spaces or anywhere exposed to moisture.
