Description

The Mara is a 4 light chandelier built on a polished chrome frame with two curved arms that cross at the centre, each arm supporting two E14 bulb fittings beneath black pleated fabric shades. The frame measures 1150mm wide and 210mm deep, giving it substantial presence over a dining table or in an entrance hall without dominating rooms with ceiling heights under 2.6m.

Designed for installation above rectangular dining tables, kitchen islands and double-height entrance halls, the Mara provides even downward light distribution across a 2-3m surface when fitted with warm-white E14 LED or candle bulbs (sold separately). The adjustable drop between 650mm and 2500mm allows the fitting to be suspended 700-900mm above a table surface in standard ceiling heights or lowered further in rooms with higher ceilings. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain conceals the cable run.

Each black shade is made from pleated fabric on a rigid wire frame, with the pleating adding vertical texture that softens the hard chrome lines of the frame. The polished chrome finish provides high reflectivity, bouncing ambient room light back into the space during daytime when the chandelier is switched off. The four shades are spaced symmetrically across the two arms, creating balanced light distribution without clustering or gaps.

The Mara takes four E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs between 2700K and 3000K for ambient dining table lighting. Maximum recommended wattage per bulb is typically 40W equivalent.

Is the Mara dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail prematurely on a dimmer circuit.

What table length does it suit?

The 1150mm length suits rectangular dining tables between 1600mm and 2400mm long. For shorter tables the Mara may overhang the ends; for longer tables consider pairing two fittings in a row or choosing a wider multi-arm chandelier.

How is the drop adjusted?

The drop is adjusted on installation by shortening or lengthening the chain between the ceiling canopy and the chandelier frame. The cable runs through the chain and is cut to length during fitting, so adjustment after installation requires an electrician to re-access the ceiling canopy.
