Description

The Mara is a 2-light wall light built around a curved antique brass frame that extends 220mm from the wall, holding two E14 bulb fittings beneath white pleated fabric shades. Two cut crystal droplets hang from the brass arms, catching and reflecting light from the bulbs above. An integral rocker switch on the backplate allows the light to be operated at the wall without needing a separate pull cord or remote switch.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms where wall-mounted ambient lighting is needed without ceiling pendants, the Mara suits rooms 3-4m wide where a single central ceiling light would leave corners underlit. The 380mm width and symmetrical twin-arm design work either side of a fireplace, flanking a mirror, or as a single fitting above a console table or bedside. The 310mm height sits comfortably on standard 2.4m walls without feeling cramped near the ceiling or too low on the wall plane.

The antique brass finish shows deliberate tonal variation across the metal surface, giving the appearance of natural ageing rather than uniform plating. The white pleated shades are ivory-toned rather than stark white, softening the contrast with the brass and diffusing the light from the E14 bulbs (sold separately) into a warm wash rather than a direct beam. The curved arms extend outward from the circular backplate in a gentle S-curve, creating visual movement without overwhelming the wall. The crystal droplets are faceted to catch light when the bulbs are on and remain visible when the light is off.

What bulbs does it take?

The Mara takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs (also called SES or candle bulbs), sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm white LED candle bulbs at 2700K for soft ambient light in a bedroom or living room.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if you use dimmable E14 bulbs. The fitting itself has no dimming electronics, so dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb choice and the dimmer switch on your circuit. The integral rocker switch on the backplate is an on/off switch only.

How does the switch work?

The rocker switch is built into the circular backplate and operates both bulbs together. This means you can turn the light on and off at the wall without needing a separate pull cord or remote control, which is useful in bedrooms and hallways.

What's the projection from the wall?

The fitting projects 220mm from the wall once mounted. This works well above bedside tables, console tables or in hallway positions where there's clearance for the arms to extend without being knocked. Avoid positioning it where the shades would sit at head height in a narrow corridor.
