Description

The Mansion is a 3-light outdoor chain pendant built around a hand-crafted solid brass lantern finished in polished nickel. Three E14 candle-style bulb holders (bulbs sold separately, 60W max each) sit behind clear glass panels set into a tapered rectangular frame with pierced detailing along the top edge and roof section. The polished nickel finish provides a bright, reflective surface that catches daylight and amplifies the glow of the bulbs after dark.

Designed for covered outdoor areas such as porches, front entrances, covered terraces and garden doorways, the pendant carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against splashing water and solid objects larger than 1mm. The lantern must be sheltered from direct rainfall and driving rain — suitable under eaves, canopies or pergola structures. The chain drop is adjustable on installation from 570mm minimum to 940mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set 600-700mm below a ceiling beam or soffit for clearance above head height.

The solid brass construction gives the lantern a 2.8kg weight and substantial presence despite the relatively compact 220mm width and depth. The polished nickel finish mirrors the reflective quality of polished chrome but with a warmer, silvery tone that pairs with both traditional Georgian-inspired exteriors and contemporary minimalist facades. IP44 provides protection against splashing water from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. The Mansion must be installed under a sheltered overhang, porch roof, canopy or eaves to protect it from direct rainfall and driving rain. It is not rated for fully exposed mounting.

What bulbs does it take?

The pendant takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a soft glow that suits outdoor dining and entrance lighting.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain is 450mm long and the drop is adjustable on installation by shortening the visible chain length. The minimum drop of 570mm includes the lantern height plus chain; the maximum drop of 940mm uses the full chain length.

Can the polished nickel finish tarnish outdoors?

Polished nickel is more resistant to tarnishing than uncoated brass, but over time exposure to moisture and air will develop a patina. Periodic cleaning with a soft cloth and metal polish designed for nickel-plated brass will maintain the reflective finish.
