Majin Oxblood Red Porcelain Table Lamp - Cream Shade

The Majin is a 560mm table lamp built around a baluster-form vase in oxblood red glazed porcelain, set on a dark wood plinth with a polished brass threaded rod running through the centre. A cream polycotton shade with burgundy and gold soutache trim sits above the vase, converting the single E27 bulb into diffused ambient light.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways, and side tables in living rooms, the Majin provides warm accent lighting in spaces where decorative presence matters as much as function. The 360mm shade diameter gives the lamp a balanced proportion on typical bedside cabinets (450-600mm wide) without overhang, while the 560mm overall height clears most headboards and picture frames when placed on a side table. The lamp accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing a choice of warm or cool light temperature depending on the room.

The oxblood red glaze on the porcelain base is a deep burgundy-red with a high-gloss finish that reflects light differently depending on the angle and the time of day. The glaze is applied over white porcelain and fired at high temperature, creating depth in the colour where the glaze pools in the curved sections of the vase. The dark wood plinth anchors the base visually and physically, while the brass threaded rod and finial provide structural continuity from base to shade. What bulb does it take?

The Majin takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or living room use.

Can the shade be removed for cleaning?

Yes. The shade sits on a brass harp attached to the threaded rod and is held in place by a finial. Unscrew the finial to lift the shade off for dusting or cleaning. The porcelain base can be wiped with a soft damp cloth.

Is the lamp suitable for low bedside tables?

The 560mm overall height works on standard bedside cabinets (400-500mm tall), positioning the bottom of the shade at approximately 900-1000mm from the floor when lit. For very low tables (under 350mm) the lamp may sit too high relative to a pillow height.
