Description

The Majin is a 560mm table lamp built around a baluster-form vase in oxblood red glazed porcelain, set on a dark wood plinth with a polished brass threaded rod running through the centre. A cream polycotton shade with burgundy and gold soutache trim sits above the vase, converting the single E27 bulb into diffused ambient light.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways, and side tables in living rooms, the Majin provides warm accent lighting in spaces where decorative presence matters as much as function. The 360mm shade diameter gives the lamp a balanced proportion on typical bedside cabinets (450-600mm wide) without overhang, while the 560mm overall height clears most headboards and picture frames when placed on a side table. The lamp accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing a choice of warm or cool light temperature depending on the room.

The oxblood red glaze on the porcelain base is a deep burgundy-red with a high-gloss finish that reflects light differently depending on the angle and the time of day. The glaze is applied over white porcelain and fired at high temperature, creating depth in the colour where the glaze pools in the curved sections of the vase. The dark wood plinth anchors the base visually and physically, while the brass threaded rod and finial provide structural continuity from base to shade.
