Description

The Lyris Trim is a 2m black anodised aluminium LED profile cover designed to house LED strip lighting in recessed, surface-mounted or corner applications. The extruded aluminium profile measures 44mm projection from the mounting surface and accepts LED strips up to approximately 12mm width within its channel. The anodised and powder-coated black finish resists scratching and maintains colour consistency under repeated handling during installation.

Designed for residential accent lighting, under-cabinet kitchen lighting, and commercial cove or feature wall installations, the Lyris Trim provides mechanical protection for the LED strip while concealing the adhesive backing and wiring from view. The 2m length can be cut to size on site using a hacksaw or mitre saw, allowing precise fitting to alcoves, shelving runs, or kitchen plinths. The profile is typically paired with a separate frosted or clear diffuser cover (sold separately) that clips into the channel to soften LED dot visibility.

The 44mm projection suits applications where the profile needs to stand proud from a wall or ceiling surface to create a visible lighting feature, or where deeper recesses allow the profile to be flush-mounted with the diffuser sitting level with the finished surface. The aluminium construction acts as a heat sink for the LED strip, improving thermal management and extending LED lifespan compared to strips mounted directly onto plasterboard or wood.

Does the profile include the LED strip and diffuser?

No. The Lyris Trim is the aluminium profile housing only. LED strips, diffuser covers, end caps and mounting clips are sold separately and must be matched to the profile dimensions.

Can the 2m length be cut to size?

Yes. The extruded aluminium can be cut to length on site using a hacksaw or mitre saw. Measure and mark the profile before cutting, and deburr the cut edge with a file to ensure the diffuser clips in cleanly.

What width LED strip does it accept?

The internal channel width accommodates LED strips up to approximately 12mm wide. Most standard 10mm and 12mm self-adhesive LED strips fit within the profile. Verify the strip width before purchasing.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The anodised aluminium profile is corrosion-resistant, but outdoor use depends on the IP rating of the LED strip and diffuser combination. The profile alone does not carry an IP rating. For outdoor applications, pair with IP65 or IP67 rated LED strips and sealed diffusers.
