Description
The Luxtra is a 74cm outdoor LED floor lamp built around a powder-coated black metal cage with an opal plastic diffuser inside. An integrated 18W LED producing 3000K warm white light sits within the diffuser, directing output downwards through the base of the cage. The lamp is IP44 rated for outdoor use in protected locations such as covered terraces, balconies and porches.
Designed for placement beside seating areas, on terrace edges or flanking doorways, the Luxtra runs on 230V mains power via a 2.5m black neoprene cable and standard UK plug. The cable length allows the lamp to be positioned up to 2.5m from a weatherproof outdoor socket without needing an extension lead. The open cage design casts shadow patterns on surrounding surfaces when lit, and the 74cm height places the light source at knee-to-mid-thigh level for seated adults.
The metal cage is constructed from welded vertical and horizontal rods forming a cylindrical outline with a wider mid-section, tapering towards top and base. The powder-coated black finish resists corrosion in typical UK outdoor conditions but the IP44 rating means the lamp should be used under shelter rather than fully exposed to direct rain or snow. The opal diffuser softens the LED output and prevents glare when viewed from seating positions at the same height as the lamp.
From Ideal Lux, an Italian manufacturer producing contemporary residential lighting since 1974. The Luxtra uses non-replaceable LED modules rated for approximately 25,000 hours at typical usage patterns, equivalent to around 10 years of evening use. The lamp weighs approximately 3kg and the cage diameter at the widest point is 740mm.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the lamp is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as terraces, porches and balconies, but not for fully exposed positions where it would face direct rain, snow or submersion.
Can the LED be replaced when it fails?
No. The Luxtra uses an integrated LED module that is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, which translates to around 10 years of typical evening use. After this period the entire lamp would need replacing.
How is it powered?
The lamp runs on 230V mains power and comes with a 2.5m black neoprene cable and standard UK plug. You will need access to a weatherproof outdoor socket within 2.5m of where you want to position the lamp.
Is it dimmable?
No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The lamp operates at full brightness when switched on.
