Description

The Luxeon Surface L-Connector is a horizontal corner connector for track lighting systems, designed to join two perpendicular sections of Luxeon surface-mounted track at a 90-degree angle. The connector measures 100mm x 100mm in profile and is finished in matt black to match black track systems. Built from injection-moulded plastic with internal copper conductors, it maintains electrical continuity through the corner while supporting the mechanical weight of the track run.

Used in retail, gallery, hospitality and residential installations where track lighting needs to turn a corner or follow the perimeter of a room, the L-connector allows track systems to navigate L-shaped layouts without breaking the circuit. The horizontal orientation means both track arms sit flush to the ceiling rather than stepping down at the junction. The connector is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer module installed elsewhere in the track circuit, allowing brightness control across all track-mounted spotlights.

The black finish is a close match to Ideal Lux Luxeon track in black, giving a continuous visual line around the corner rather than an obvious junction. The 100mm footprint is compact enough to fit into corners with limited ceiling space, and the connector installs by sliding onto the ends of two track sections and twisting to lock. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — bathrooms, outdoor canopies and other wet or exposed locations require a higher-rated connector.

Is this compatible with all track lighting systems?

No. The Luxeon L-Connector is designed specifically for Ideal Lux Luxeon surface-mounted track systems. It will not fit other manufacturers' tracks due to different profile dimensions and locking mechanisms. Check your existing track is Luxeon before ordering.

Does the connector need to be wired separately?

No. The connector carries power through internal copper conductors that make contact when the track sections are locked into place. There is no separate wiring required — simply twist the connector onto the track ends and the circuit is completed through the corner.

What does horizontal orientation mean?

Horizontal means both arms of the L-connector sit at the same ceiling height, creating a flush 90-degree turn. Vertical L-connectors (a separate product) step one arm down from the other, which is used when track needs to drop to a lower ceiling level at the corner.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means it is suitable only for dry indoor environments. Bathrooms require IP44 minimum (zones 2 and 3) or IP65 (zone 1). Outdoor or canopy installations require weatherproof connectors with IP65 or higher.
