Description

The Luxeon Slim L-connector is a horizontal right-angle track connector in white plastic, designed to join two sections of Ideal Lux Luxeon Slim track lighting at 90 degrees. The connector measures 100mm along each arm, forming an L-shape that routes power and mounting rail through the corner without requiring a separate junction box or external wiring run.

Used in retail, gallery, kitchen and office installations where track lighting needs to turn a corner or wrap around a room perimeter, the connector maintains the low-profile Luxeon Slim track aesthetic while providing a secure mechanical and electrical join. The white finish matches Ideal Lux white track sections, sitting flush with the ceiling or wall-mounted track runs. IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations.

The plastic construction keeps the connector lightweight for ceiling installations and reduces thermal transfer between track sections. The 100mm projection on each arm gives sufficient clearance for most spotlight heads fitted to the adjoining track, though very large or wide spotlights may need positioning away from the connector itself to avoid mechanical interference with the corner join.

Is this compatible with all Ideal Lux track systems?

This connector is designed specifically for the Ideal Lux Luxeon Slim track system. It will not fit other Ideal Lux track ranges or third-party track systems due to differing rail profiles and electrical contact configurations.

Can spotlights be fitted directly onto the connector?

No. The connector joins two track sections at a right angle but does not itself carry spotlight mounting slots. Spotlights must be fitted to the adjoining track sections, positioned away from the connector corner to avoid mechanical interference.

What does the IP20 rating mean for installation?

IP20 indicates the connector is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but has no water resistance. It must only be installed in dry indoor locations away from bathrooms, kitchens splash zones, and any outdoor or covered outdoor areas.

Does the connector carry power through the corner?

Yes. The connector routes both the mounting rail and the electrical contacts through the 90-degree join, allowing a continuous powered track run around the corner without needing a separate junction box or wiring splice.
