Description

The Luxeon-2 is a 1-metre recessed magnetic track in white aluminium, designed as the structural foundation for modular track lighting systems. The track sits flush within a ceiling or wall recess, with a 56mm projection below the surface line, and provides a continuous magnetic rail that accepts compatible magnetic track spotlights, pendants and downlights without fixed wiring points.

Designed for residential living rooms, kitchens, retail spaces and gallery installations where lighting layouts need to change over time, the magnetic system allows fittings to be repositioned along the track by hand without tools or re-wiring. The track accepts any Luxeon-2 series magnetic fitting and can be powered from either end or centre-fed depending on the circuit design. The white powder-coated aluminium finish integrates cleanly into white or light-toned ceilings, leaving only a slim linear profile visible once installed.

The track carries a 5-year warranty and an IP20 rating, making it suitable for dry indoor spaces but not wet rooms or outdoor applications. The aluminium extrusion provides structural rigidity across the full 1-metre span without sagging, and the magnetic rail inside the profile delivers low-voltage power to each fitting via concealed contact points. Multiple 1m tracks can be joined end-to-end using connector sections (sold separately) to create longer continuous runs.

Installation requires a recessed channel cut into the ceiling or wall surface to the track's dimensional profile, with mains connection via a compatible driver or transformer housed above the ceiling line. The dimmable specification allows the track system to be controlled via leading-edge or trailing-edge dimmers when paired with dimmable magnetic fittings and an appropriate driver.

The Luxeon-2 track accepts any magnetic spotlight, pendant or downlight from the Luxeon-2 series by Ideal Lux. Fittings attach via magnetic contact points and can be repositioned along the track without tools. Check that replacement or additional fittings specify Luxeon-2 magnetic compatibility before purchasing.

Can multiple tracks be joined together?

Yes. Multiple 1m sections can be connected end-to-end using Luxeon-2 connector sections (sold separately) to create continuous runs of 2m, 3m or longer. Each connector maintains the magnetic rail continuity and power feed across the join.

What recess depth is required for installation?

The track requires a recessed channel cut into the ceiling or wall to accommodate the full profile depth. The 56mm projection below the surface line must be matched by sufficient depth above the surface to house the track body and mains connection. Consult the installation manual or a qualified electrician before cutting the recess.

Is this suitable for bathrooms?
