Luxeon-1 Recessed Magnetic Track 2m - White

The Luxeon-1 is a 2-metre recessed magnetic track system in white-finished aluminium, designed to accept magnetic spotlight attachments that can be positioned and repositioned anywhere along the track without tools. The track itself is recessed into the ceiling rather than surface-mounted, giving a flush profile with only a 56mm projection below ceiling level once installed.

Designed for commercial retail, gallery, hospitality and residential applications where lighting layouts need to change regularly, the magnetic system allows spotlights to attach, detach and slide along the track without screws or clips. This suits environments where display areas shift, where accent lighting needs to be redirected between objects, or where lighting positions are set during installation and then refined over time. The 2m length can be run as a single track or joined with additional sections to create longer runs.

The white powder-coated aluminium finish matches most white or off-white ceiling paint, reducing the visual presence of the track when spotlights are removed or spaced apart. The aluminium construction provides effective heat dissipation for LED magnetic spotlights, which typically run cooler than older halogen equivalents but still benefit from passive cooling through the track body. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — the track is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations.

Installation requires cutting a channel into plasterboard or similar ceiling material to accommodate the recessed housing, then fixing the track into position and making mains connections to the integral driver terminals. The track is compatible with standard UK 230V mains and supports dimming when paired with dimmable magnetic spotlights and an appropriate dimmer module. What spotlights are compatible with this track?

The Luxeon-1 accepts magnetic spotlight fittings from the Ideal Lux Luxeon range and other manufacturers producing 48V magnetic track spotlights. The magnets hold the spotlight in position while the internal contacts transfer power. Check compatibility before purchasing spotlights from brands outside the Ideal Lux range.

Can the track be cut to a shorter length?

Yes, the 2m track can be cut to size on site using a hacksaw or metal-cutting saw. The cut end will need deburring and the internal wiring may need repositioning depending on where the cut is made. Follow the manufacturer's installation guide for safe cutting and termination procedures.

Is this suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only. The track is not protected against moisture ingress and must not be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, or any space where water spray or condensation occurs.

How is dimming controlled?

The track supports dimming when paired with dimmable magnetic spotlights and a compatible dimmer module installed between the mains supply and the track. The dimmer controls all spotlights on that track circuit simultaneously. Individual spotlight dimming is not supported unless each spotlight has its own separate track circuit.
