Description

The Lux is a table lamp built around a triangular polished chrome frame that holds a faceted frosted-clear glass shade at its centre. The frame forms an asymmetric triangular loop, approximately 190mm wide and 200mm tall, with the glass sphere suspended inside. A single G9 bulb sits within the sphere (sold separately), casting light through the multi-faceted surface which breaks and diffuses the beam.

Designed for bedside tables, home office desks and console surfaces where a compact light source is needed without a large shade footprint, the Lux provides task or ambient light depending on the bulb chosen. The triangular frame sits on an oval polished chrome base plate measuring 160mm long, giving stability without a wide spread. The frosted-clear glass reduces glare from the bare bulb while the faceted cutting creates texture and light refraction when the lamp is switched on.

The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light during the day, making the lamp function as a small sculptural accent even when switched off. The G9 socket accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to the wattage specified in the Specification table, and the lamp is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9 dimmable bulb and dimmer switch. At 500g the fitting has enough weight to sit securely on most surfaces without needing to be fixed down.

What bulb does the Lux take?

The lamp uses a G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 2.5-4W LED G9 bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside use, or a 5-6W bulb for desk task lighting. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating.

Is the Lux dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Halogen G9 bulbs dim smoothly on most dimmers; LED G9 bulbs require a dimmer rated for LED loads to avoid flicker.

What size surface does it need?

The oval chrome base measures 160mm long and the triangular frame extends to 190mm at its widest point. A surface at least 200mm wide and 180mm deep provides clearance, though the lamp can sit closer to a wall as the frame projects upward rather than outward.

How is the glass shade cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool fully before cleaning. Wipe the faceted glass with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid spraying liquid directly onto the fitting as moisture can reach the bulb socket.
