Description

The Lustris is an 850mm linear bar pendant from Ideal Lux, Italy, suspending five spherical diffusers on transparent cables from a polished chrome canopy. Each diffuser is made from clear acrylic with an internal ground-crystal texture that catches and refracts light from the integrated 27W 3000K LED inside. The five globes hang at staggered heights, each on its own 2000mm adjustable cable.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan spaces where overhead light is needed across a linear area, the Lustris distributes light evenly through the five suspended globes rather than concentrating it in a single shade. The 850mm canopy length suits tables and islands between 1.6-2.0m wide, with the cables individually adjustable during installation to set the exact drop height. The polished chrome finish on the canopy reflects ceiling colour and pairs with both neutral and bold wall tones.

Each acrylic globe measures approximately 120mm in diameter and weighs less than the equivalent glass shade, allowing the transparent cables to support the cluster without visible metallic rods or chain. The ground-crystal texture inside the acrylic diffuses the LED point source into a softer ambient glow, reducing glare while retaining brightness across the table or worktop below. The fixture is rated IP20 for dry indoor use and carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Is the Lustris dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs at a fixed 27W output on standard 230V mains. It cannot be paired with a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2000mm cable length on each globe is individually adjustable during installation. For a dining table the globes typically hang 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The cables can be shortened if needed.

Can the cables be adjusted after installation?

The cable lengths are set during installation by trimming the transparent cables to the desired drop and securing them inside the canopy. Once installed and secured, they cannot be easily adjusted without removing the canopy from the ceiling.

What width table or island does this suit?

The 850mm canopy length works best over tables or islands between 1.6-2.0m wide. For narrower tables a 3-globe version may be more proportionate; for wider islands above 2.2m, consider pairing two Lustris pendants end-to-end or choosing a longer bar pendant.
